Supreme
Knight at
Rosary Bowl
in
Southern California
"As
we pray the rosary today, we recall that we live on a continent that has
been uniquely blessed by the Mother of God"
Supreme
Knight Carl A. Anderson addressed a crowd estimated at 60,000 on
Saturday evening, May 19, at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. "We
are all citizens of the Catholic hemisphere," Anderson said. "The rosary
and Our Lady, especially under her title of Our Lady of Guadalupe, must
be seen as the common bond of our Catholic hemisphere."
"Hispanics in the Church are not an abstraction - they're our fellow
parishioners," he continued. "In the Knights of Columbus, they're our
brother Knights, our fellow Caballeros de Colon, and they have been so
since 1905. . . Our Lady of Guadalupe points us to her son, but she also
points us to unity in her son and for Catholics this unity must
transcend borders."

State Warden
Remarks
Pete
Parrish, Alabama State Warden
Hello everyone. As summer approaches and we get closer to the end of the
current fraternal year I am still hopeful that we can put the great
state of Alabama back into the Supreme Council's Circle of Honor.
Through June 1, 2007 we need 63 new members to accomplish that goal. I
am hopeful that we can end the year on a positive note in recruitment
and put a great number of names on the plaque that we are going to award
our Worthy State Chaplain, Father Leo Blanchet, a great Priest of the
Mobile Archdiocese, a great friend and a great Knight.

Knights Council NO 3227 of Anniston, AL recently
participated in the Alcohol and Drug abuse awareness contest. Three
winners were picked for their age group and categories. The council
winners were Brianna Love (left), Annie Johnston (center) and Chris
Johnston (right). All three won at the district level and Brianna Love
and Annie Johnston won the state level. Their posters have been
forwarded to Supreme to represent the Alabama Knights of Columbus at the
National level.
The poster contest was supported by the Sacred
Heart of Jesus Catholic School in Anniston, AL and the CCD which is
associated with the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Brianna is a
6th Grader at Sacred Heart School and Brother and Sister Chris and Annie
Johnston are part of the CCD program and are home schooled. Both Annie

My
Brother Knights,
Our
Intellectual Disability Campaign last October was a tremendous success.
Councils reported a Net Income totaling $173,659. This was the second
highest value for the past 29 years, surpassed only by our drive in 2004
when we netted $183,688. This brings our total Net Income for these past
29 years to an astounding $3.9 million. Our Per Capita for this past
year's campaign was $22.86. I applaud and thank you for your dedication
and hard work. Ever since the inception of this program your support has

The Chairman's Quill
Dan Gardner, State Squires Chairman
School is
out and summer is here. Now may seem like the time to take a break from
circle meetings and activities. It also may be the time to plan some
summer monthly activities for your Squire Circle like a cookout, a
campout, a sleep over, a hiking trip, or maybe get together and go
swimming. With school out for the summer this is an opportunity to start
recruiting new squires or starting a new circle in your council or
assembly. Right now you don't have to compete with any extracurricular
activities. I know families go on vacations during the summer but if you
are like me, you only get a week or two. Think about it summer vacation
may be the right prospect for starting that new circle or increasing
membership.
