State Warden Remarks

Hello everyone. As summer approaches and we get closer to the end of the current fraternal year I am still hopeful that we can put the great state of Alabama back into the Supreme Council's Circle of Honor. Through June 1, 2007 we need 63 new members to accomplish that goal. I am hopeful that we can end the year on a positive note in recruitment and put a great number of names on the plaque that we are going to award our Worthy State Chaplain, Father Leo Blanchet, a great Priest of the Mobile Archdiocese, a great friend and a great Knight. If we achieve our normal numbers in closing out this fraternal year we will recognize Father Blanchet and his commitment to serving us as Knights as our long time Chaplain and Alabama will be assured of returning to the Circle of Honor. Reflecting on the fraternal year to date, it should be noted that Alabama has had a great year of recruiting new members currently having brought in 425 new Brother Knights. Sadly we have lost 151 Brother Knights for whatever reason, bringing our net gain to 274. If 63 councils recruit one new member for the remaining days of the current year we will make our Circle of Honor goal. Please do your part to recruit a new Knight.

I enjoyed seeing everyone at the convention and I hope that everyone enjoyed the weekend. I appreciate the confidence that you all placed in me by electing me to another term as your State Warden and as a delegate to the Supreme Convention in Nashville, Tennessee in August. It is, indeed an honor to represent my Brother Knights of the Alabama State Council and I thank you for that privilege.

I look forward to seeing everyone at the State Council organizational kickoff meeting in July. I hope you all have a safe, happy and productive summer and that we have a strong finish in recruitment of new members for our current fraternal year.
